An extended weekend of shape note singing school for
all ages and experience levels in a beautiful setting
in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Cost: Full Participant - $180, includes 3 nights
lodging and meals (beginning with dinner on Thurs. and
ends with breakfast on Sun.), and classes. Rooms are
double occupancy.
Commuter - $30/day for classes only - meals are
additional costs.

Classes will include Beginning Rudiments, Advanced
Rudiments, Children's Class, Leading a Song, Keying a
Song, Organizing a Singing, History of Shape Note
Singing, Odes & Anthems, and Parts Practice. There
will be group singings each evening. All classes and
singings will be based on the seven shape notes music
of The Christian Harmony (Carolina and Alabama
editions) and The New Harp of Columbia. Books will be
available for loan and sale.

It was just a wonderful experience this past summer. The facility is outstanding; the staff attentive without being intrusive and the food - we ate very well.

Good classes and good singings, and, most importantly, good people. Great that there will be an additional day.

I'm making this a "must do" for the summer.
